'Durjoy' Is What You Make Of Him! =P

'Durjoy' is a Bengali name that means 'Moon'. Sure, Durjoy Datta's parents might take their 'Son' as a 'Moon', but for me, 'Durjoy' means only one thing: Love at first sight!

But, on a more serious note, Durjoy Datta really has set a major target for any upcoming Indian author (Like me! Honestly, if i want to become a writer after say 3 years, and people start comparing MY books to Durjoy's, i'll have NO chance!). All of his books (six, to date) have worked immensely well, he has been recognized for his work by several newspapers and magazines and has received the prestigious 'Teachers Youth Achievement Award'. So, unless you're really have superb-writing skills like Chetan Bhagat, you can just kiss your writing goodbye. =P

However, not meaning to sound condemning, there is one criticism I'd like to make about Durjoy's books: They really are very similar!

Sure, i completely agree the first two books (Of Course I Love You!...Till I Find Someone BetterNow That You’re Rich,Let's Fall In Love!  rocked like hell, but i was deeply unsatisfied by the third one ( She Broke Up, I Didn’t!...I Just Kissed Someone Else! ). That is Durjoy's ONLY non co-authored book, and somehow, it lacked the creative skills that are usually present in his books.

But, whatever. All his books are inspired from real life incidents and plus they have sold a total of 1,000,000 copies till date making him one of the highest selling Indian authors! Nobody cares whether his writing was up to mark in the third book or not!

Anyways, his cuteness makes up for whatever his books lack! And, if read by someone travelling on the waves of adolescence, they definitely make a lot of sense and help indefinitely in the relationship arena.
And why won't they, after all he has some true experience in that field!
Which is what you can judge from all his books.

Relationship-experience aside, Durjoy definitely has a good sense of humor as well. It maybe sick at times, but if it makes you laugh, then why not? ^^

Ending on a quote made by Durjoy Datta in the 'Friday' Magazine:
"Every Relationship Has An Expiry Date. And I Just Reach Mine Sooner!"
